Operating Schedule
SSRL operates as a dedicated synchrotron radiation source for approximately nine months per year (usually late October through late July). Maintenance and upgrade activities are arranged during the down time (August-September). The SSRL run year, called a cycle, is divided into three scheduling periods, called runs.
The FY2024 SPEAR3 schedule is linked here. Users can view and accept beam time assignments through the user portal, see schedules below by Beam Line Type (X-ray / VUV / Macromolecular Crystallography). Visit the SPEAR3 status for the latest accelerator updates.
