Required Training

To conduct experiments at SSRL, all users need to complete their required training (see Safety Guidelines for the course listing).

The training needs to be completed before the arrival at SLAC. Users arriving without completed training, will not be allowed to proceed to SSRL and won’t receive a badge until the online training has been taken at the Visitor, User, and Employee (VUE) Center. 

 

Login Instructions to the Training Center

To log into the SLAC Training Center to complete the training, please follow the following steps: 

  • Access the online training platform, please log into the new SLAC Training Portal. (link is external)
  • To login, enter your system SLAC ID (SID) number and the temporary password, (SLACtraining2005!). You will need to change the password after the first login.
    • If you do not know your SID number, please log into the User Portal and locate your SID number under the “Welcome” Tab under “User Profile" (first line).
    • If you do not have a SID number, please go to “Site Access Tab” on this page and complete step 2
  • If you have lost your password, you can request a new password by submitting the password request form
  • Navigate or search for the three core training courses as listed on the Safety Guideline Website
  • If you are a remote user, you will still need to complete the Cyber Security training.
