BL10-2b

    Overview
    SPEAR3

    In Commissioning: In-situ, Multi-modal, Catalysis-centric X-ray Spectroscopy End-Station

Beam line currently closed for upgrade.

Beam line 10-2 is a wiggler-based source that splits time between the front hutch (BL10-2a), instrumented for wide-angle X-ray scattering, and the rear hutch (BL10-2b), instrumented for X-ray spectroscopy with a focus on in-situ, time-resolved catalyst characterization.

The BL10-2b hutch is equipped with integrated systems for conducting in-situ/operando thermal-heterogeneous catalysis and electro-catalysis experiments with product analytics for time-resolved studies. An infrared spectrometer installed in the hutch allows for scheduling blocks focused on combined XAS/FTIR measurements probing the metal center as well as adsorbates and ligands. Spectra can be collected at rates up to 50 ms/XAS spectra using the quick-scanning mode of the monochromator.
