SSRL Beam Lines Schedule |
|
SSRL user operations resume on most beam lines the week of November 14, 2011. The 2011-2012 user run is scheduled to continue through August 13, 2012 with a brief winter shut down December 17, 2011 through January 2, 2012. New proposals and beam time requests can be submitted throughout the year; see deadlines and details on SSRL User Resources webpages or through the User Portal. SPEAR3 has been operating at 350 mA since June 2011. The current will likely increase during the run to a maximum of 500 mA. Users will be notified prior to an increase in the current. SSRL employs a frequent fill schedule to maintain the SPEAR3 current approximately constant. Automatic injections will be conducted every 5 minutes. Automatic injections will only occur at the designated 5 minute intervals (i.e., on the hour and every 5 minutes thereafter). If the injector is not functional at the designated fill time, then the fill will be skipped. The current will be replenished at the next scheduled fill time after the injector is repaired and normal injection intervals will resume. The operator will give an audible announcement prior to first injection if the current has decreased more than 10%. Contact beam line scientists/engineers to discuss set up, arrival time, and other questions about how the beam current or fill schedule may impact your planned experiments.
