Operations Report
Last week, SPEAR was up 98.3%. The FY25 run uptime is 96.8% to date. The MTBF to date is 72.7 hours. The injector uptime to date is 98.8%.
Accelerator Operations
User run as scheduled until 6 AM Monday, 7/28. Summer down begins 6 AM on 7/29, after 24 hours of AP. Beam was down for 3.5 hours Tuesday morning (7/22) due to a SPEAR power supply fault.
Beam Lines and Development
Beam Line Systems Report
The BL4-1 and old BL10-2 monochromators are both being refurbished in the vacuum shop. Cryoseal improvement experiments are ongoing.
The plan to remove the BL10-2 M0 mirror this summer for repair work is being finalized.
Preparations are nearly complete for other summer SPEAR downtime activities including booster vacuum chamber and ion pump replacements, the BL13 PGM grating movers upgrade, and the BL7-3 hutch expansion.
A power outage is scheduled for Building 50 from August 13th through the 15th to test the SLAC power resiliency project systems.
A power outage will also occur in B140 from July 29th through August 1st. This will affect the sewer system for B130 and B120, so some bathrooms and sinks will be unavailable during this time.
