Abstract
POLFEL is a next-generation free-electron laser and ultrafast science infrastructure now in the final phase of construction in Poland, with first beams expected in the coming year. Built around a CW superconducting accelerator, it will deliver ultra-short pulses of THz, infrared, ultraviolet, and vacuum-ultraviolet radiation on a single integrated platform. It will also provide electron beams for ultrafast electron diffraction up to about 5 MeV (MeV-UED), while dedicated beamlines offer electrons up to approximately 70 MeV for the THz source and a broad range of beam tests.
Conceived as a Central and Eastern European hub for ultrafast science, POLFEL warmly invites international partnership in research, instrumentation, and accelerator technology.
