Training

Complete safety training before traveling to SLAC.

  • Get your password by filling out the Training Portal Password Request form
  • Click here to log into the Web Training Portal
  • Click the red Manual Log in button to access the login page where you will enter your SLAC system ID number and the password which was emailed to you from the previous step. (Please note, this is the 'Training Portal Password', and not your UNIX password or your User Portal password.)
  • Contact your user office if you have any questions or need assistance.

Facility Specific Safety Orientation are required before beginning onsite user experiments.

NOTE:  Courses 2014 SSRL Sample Prep Lab, LCLS107 Building Orientation, and SC102 Cryo-EM Laboratory Orientation are only available once onsite at SLAC.

 

Select and complete the following courses. Roll over the course name and click on the "Launch" link to start the course. Most courses are approximately 30-45 minutes. Some courses require a passing grade of 80% or better on the test at the end of the training module to receive credit.

  • Course 219 - ESH Safety Orientation
  • Course 115 - General Employee Radiation Training (GERT)
  • Course CS100 - Cyber Security Training for Lab Users  
    • This annual training is required for anyone who will be onsite or remotely participate in user experiments (who is not an employee). (CS200-Cyber Security Training for Employees is required for all staff.) 

Once you have completed the courses, you may want to make a copy of your certificates of completion as there is a delay before credit for completed courses are downloaded into the SLAC training database or user portal.
