SWEDISH DANCE
Per Hillgrove. 1865, Scholar's Companion and Ballroom Vade Mecum.
Three face three, described as longways, could be threesome sicilians.
Need to identify 1s and 2s.  Expect two men to four women.

Triple progression, 32 bars * 3 for each round.

This dance will be found particularly useful in parties
where there happens to be a large majority of either ladies or gentlemen. The
party, being placed as above in lines of three, a gentleman and two ladies, or
a lady and two gentlemen, as vis-a-vis, and the dance proceeds with as many
sets as can formed from the company, each three facing three, and formed in the
same manner as our Spanish Dance, and is commenced by all the dancers at the
same time, and finished at the pleasure of the party, or on the authority of
the director of ceremonies.



Part 1
  1-8: ALL FORWARD AND BACK TWICE, joining hands. (8 bars.) 
 9-12: EACH GENTLEMAN BALANCE (or set) to the opposite lady on their right hand,
13-16: and turn. 
17-24: BALANCE TO THE LADY ON THE LEFT HAND, and turn in the same manner, and
       back into places. (8 bars.)
25-32: ALL FORWARD AND BACK, forward again, and pass through into the next set.

Part 2

  1-8: ALL FORWARD AND BACK TWICE. 
 9-16: TOP LADIES AND OPPOSITE GENTLEMEN hands three round and 
       back again to places. 
17-24: TOP GENTLEMEN AND OPPOSITE LADIES hands three round and back again to 
       places. (8 bars.)
25-32: ALL FORWARD AND BACK, forward again, and pass through into the next set.

  1-8: ALL FORWARD AND BACK TWICE. 
 9-16: FOUR LADIES CROSS RIGHT HAND round and back again to places. 
17-24: HANDS ALL ROUND, and back to places. 
25-32: ALL FORWARD AND BACK, forward again, and pass through into the next set.

    * All repeated in succession.

Alan sez:
 each time through begins with lines of three forward and back twice,
 ends with forward and back; forward and pass through.

VARIATIONS
 Men set twice to their first corners and turn two hands (or swing)
 Men set twice to their second corners and turn two hands (or swing)

 Two first ladies and the second man, circle left and back to the right
 The other three, circle left and back to the right

 all four ladies right hand star; left hands back to place
 all six circle left and back to the right

Also, consider not doing all the figures.
