Duple and improper (1-3-5, etc. cross over)

      A1 Balance and swing neighbor (16)

      A2 Actives couples balance and swing (16)

      B1 Active couples down the center, turn alone (8)
      Come back and cast off (8)

      B2 Ladies chain, across and back (16)

Sometimes in contemporary dances, the traditional sequence in B1 is replaced
with a "down-in-fours" progression:

      B1 Down the center four in line, turn alone (8)
      Come back, break in the middle and face across (8) 


Per 1892 "Prompter's Pocket Guide":
First couple balance to second couple (4); Turn (4); First four balance
partners (4); Turn (4); Down the centre, back and cast off (8); Ladies' chain
(8).

Per Prompter's Handbook (proper version, apparently).  1893.
First couple cross over and balance to second couple [4]; swing [4]; balance
partner [4]; swing [4]; down the centre and back [8]; right and left [8].
