EIGHTSOME REEL
(per Sylvia Miskoe: 1870s, trad Scottish, 4 couple square.
Usual tune: Reels, starts and closes De'il Among the Tailors)
4*64 bars long, dance to reel time music.  The lead tune for
the introduction and closure is almost always Deil Amang the Tailors.
48 bar tunes; that is, 40 + 8*48 + 40 = 464 bars.

Intro:  (Beginning and end) Music is played ABABB
Bars 
1-8: All circle left and back.
9-16: Women make 4 hand star, hold partner hand, and all dance 8 bars, then
      reverse star with men dancing left hands in, back to place.
17-24: All set to partners twice, turn with 2 hands.
25-40: Grand chain (grand R&L) once around.

FIGURE (repeated for each woman, then for each man)

1-8:   First woman dances setting steps while others circle L&R.
9-16:  First woman sets partner, turns with 2 hands, 
       sets opposite, turns with 2 hands.
17-24: First woman and these 2 men dance left shoulder reel (hey) of 3,
       beginning dancing with partner.  End with first woman in center.

25-48: First woman repeats all the above with the 2nd and 4th men.

Then the 2nd woman does it all, followed by the 3rd, 4th, then the men.

At the end of the 4th man's turn, the introduction is repeated.

As each figure is 48 bars long, the music should be tailored to 48 bars.  A
good arrangement will change tunes with each person's turn.
