Original text:
 "1st Cu foot it and turn your Partner with the right hand then with the left
  lead down the middle up again right & left."

A1: 1-2: 1s (or 1s and 2s, if you want) face partner and 
         set or step (with "suitable steps" - consider Jacqueline's
         r-l-r-l-r, l-r-l-r-l, or Irish steps))

    3-4: and partners right-hand turn once round

A2: 1-4: As above, with left hand turn.  (I prefer starting the setting with
         left foot here, l-r-l-r-l r-l-r-l-r)

B1: (brisk version)
    1-4:  1s lead down one bar, turn up and lead up, cast off to second
          place, 2s leading up.
    OR

    (tired version)
    1-4:  1s lead down for two bars (2s moving up), use one bar to turn up, 
          lead up to second place (2s moving up)

B2: 1-4: Partners face, four changes of R&L with hands (1 bar per change)
         [Would that be chasse, chasse, jete assemblee each time?]

         OR

    1-4: M1 and W2 cross LEFT shoulder and turn left, close on their heels the
         others cross RIGHT shoulder and turn right and cross back to places
         the same way.  (Quite likely correct.)

In either case, for a three-couple set, the 1s have to move to the bottom 
after all this.
