THREE-LINE CEILIDH (Richard Mason on eceilidh) Ok I have just had a choreographic think, and here is a quick (and easy) dance that might fit: Formation: Beckett formation (Rifleman formation) with a third line down the middle. The third line can be facing either way depending on which way the wind is blowing... Music: 32 bar hornpipe A1: "Political allegence" Lines forward and back Half a reel of three across the set (either singly or as couples) Lines forward and back Half a reel of three across the set (either singly or as couples) A2: "Horse Trading" Outside lines ladies chain through an arch made by the middle couple Chain back B1: "Political cliques" Circle left and right either a) in groups of 4 around middles, b) in groups of 6 including middles c) in any other random number depending how popular your clique is. B2: "Party defections" Top couples in outside lines cast off round outside to the bottom Top middle couple choose which way to cast (either both go same way or go different) down the outside to the bottom. They end up behind somone of the same sex and push them into the middle - thus recreating the 3 lines. This dance should work - well it works on paper early on monday morning anyway!
