Step Stately 3 couple longways Barnes This rewritten and tweaked from Palmer's Pocket Playford, with the end changed to match BACDS practice. Part I Lead up a double, partners change places with four _small_ slips, men passing behind women; finish facing out. Lines of three join hands. 1s lead their lines round (fountain?) into line of 6 facing up (1st couple in middle). Forward a double and back. Women pass to R in front of men and all return to places. REPEAT. Part II - Duple-minor portion ------------------- 1st couple lead up a double (inside hands), change hands, lead back. Circle half with 2nd couple, 1st corner people (M1, W2) cross. Women give L hands and cross up between men, 1st woman leading, and fall back to stand behind the other man while men continue to face; men pull by right; partners turn L into progressed _proper_ places. Repeat with 3rd couple. Same with 2nd couple leading, then 3rd couple. Part III - 1s cross over, cast into 2nd place and cross again; lines fall back a double and come forward; end couples cross over and face *down* WHILE middles meet and face up. Middles (1s) lead up to top, while tops (2s) cast to middle (cutting in behind the 1s) and bottoms (3s) loop down (toward each other) to face up. (Right here, we're 1-2-3). INVERT THE SET: 1s cast to bottom, others follow, inverting the set (3 - 2 - 1; 3s get a little cast to nowhere from the top). 1s arm R, others circle half. Repeat twice with new top couples. Finale same as first half through introduction (lead, slip, circle into line); then line of six leads up a double and back, up a double, and honor the presence. ----------------------------------------------------
