This is not just an arbitrarily improper dance; the roles are different.
It's easier if you cross over at the ends and keep your role.  But also,
the version I had is too jargony.

Role names Larks and Robins

A: Starting on left foot, circle four half way, step-set left, then right.
   Exactly the same to home.

B; Robins cross right shoulder and turn to face back in as
   Larks cross right shoulder and turn to face back in and
   Robins cross right shoulder and stay facing out and
   Larks cross right shoulder and stay facing out

A  Neighbors take inside hands and lead out for four steps

   Still facing out, neighbors twirl to swap, like this:
   Raise the joined hands in an arch and keep them raised.
   Lark sweeps toward the right to robin's place WHILE
   robin goes left under the arch to lark's place; finish facing in,
   with lark on the left and robin on the right.  [California twirl.]

   Robins moving forward turn right hand enough to give left hand to partner.
   Partners left-hand twirl to swap (raise joined left hands, robin goes under,
   larks go around); finish facing partner with the larks back-to-back in the 
   middle of the line, robins on the outside facing in, still holding hands.

B: Partners pull by left hand to weave a hey individually to the other side of the set
   (Partner L, robins R, neighbors L, Larks R) to meet partner.
   Take two hands with partner and larks, back up to progressed place bringing partner along;
   partners still holding hands, step-set left and right (then open to next neighbors).

    the right, WOMEN change, MEN change (like Long Live London), all face out.

A2: Lead out with opposite; California twirl [face back in] (progressive).
    Ladies chain halfway, no courtesy turn; left hand swat-the-flea to end up 
    ready for a hey-for-four, men with their backs to each other in the middle,
    still holding left with Partner.

B2: Half-hey for four starting LS (pull by left, the rest is no hands); 
    poussette position when you meet your partner, 
    man draws woman to progressed place, ending with a set left and right.
