"Miss Herschel's Comet" 
A new waltz sequence inspired by the work of Caroline Herschel.

Circle of couples facing ballroom direction.  Action only with partner.  "Lead"
is on the inside, "Follow" is on the outside.

A1 1-4 Partners right shoulder around - that is "orbit round partner keeping
your face turned toward them like the moon".
5-8 open waltz (away / toward / away / toward) while traveling in Line of
direction.

A2 the same

B1 1-2: like the start of a pousssette, partners take two hands, follow moves
        forward (right two three, left two three), lead backs up into center for two
        waltz steps
   3-4: follow lets go left hand and turns under right hand to turn back on partner
        - now both are facing out.
   5-7: follow in front, chase to the outside of the set (follow is the head of
        the comet, lead is the tail)
     8:  follow turns back (by pulling left foot back)

B2: 1-8 waltz in LOD (or crossed hand turn moving forward).

if you wanted to do "Miss Herschel's Comet" as a mixer, I see three different
progression opportunities. 1) as you finish the closed waltz, follows turn over
right shoulder whiile leads continue forward to do the shoulder round with the
next partner (Best, I think, because you get to do a complete round of the
dance with the person you stood up with). 2) Finish the waltz at bar 6 of B2
and turn ou under a joined arm to next neighbor 3) Progress at the comet -
chase out to the sideline and follow continues contra-LOD to next lead, and
does the waltz with them.
