ROSE Inga Morton via Philippe Callens and Orly Krasner 3-couple longways set (uses on the Danforth, duple, A), 102 bpm http://www-ssrl.slac.stanford.edu/~winston/mydances/on_the_danforth.pdf A1 1-4: 1s lead through the bottom (2s moving up) and cast to middle. 5-8: 1s lead through threes and cast to the middle A2 1-4: Leaving partner, 1s RH * 3 hands with couple to their right 5-8: dropping hands, 1s passing each other left shoulder, lead their star in single file CCW around the other star End in lines of 3 ACROSS the set (facing up or down) [APW - worth pointing out that everybody leaves the star from the same place, so it keeps turning, keeps turning] B1: 1-4: Lines forward and back. (Those in the middle you will be the new leaders) 5-8: three gents and three ladies RH * B2: 1-4: New leaders, passing each other LS, lead your star around and end in lines on the sides, improper. 5-8: Pass partner Left shoulder, turn alone (Now 3, 1, 2). Bruce's Notes * In A2 it helps to establish that the 1s are the leaders and to use that term. Then when the lines rform across the set, you can tell the middles that they are the new leaders and the similarity to the previous figure is clearer. * B2:1-4 is a little nervous-making, since it doesn't seem to be taking you to your own side. It may help to acknowledge that fact, and reassure dancers that they'll cross over in the next figure.
