Difficulty: 2 - ceilidh Music: 32 bar reels or 16-bar hornpipes By Henry Garfath in Rob Haskell's booklet (dances of Hampshire) (If you do it with hornpipes, step-hop is fun) A1: 1-2: 1s cross down to stand between 2s and 3s (facing out) to make waves on the side; 3-4: all balance forward and back, then 5-8: 1s right hand turn the person whose right hand they're holding, ending back in the wave A2: 1-2: All balance in waves again, 3-5: then 1s turn person whose left hand they're holding (about 3/4 so they see partner); then 6-8: 1s swing to end in the middle facing across [2-1-3] B1: 1-2: all left-hand turn partner once round; 3-4: 1s and 3s pull-by left along the line, while 2s pull by partner. 5-8: Grand chain (1s, at bottom, with each other; 2s and 3s along the line). B2: Complete the grand chain (1s at the bottom again), swing partner and end proper (as though facing up).
