Covent Garden Row Longways Duple Button & Whitaker's Dances 1810 Key D, Meter 9/8 (!) https://archive.org/stream/buttonwhitakerst00lond#page/6/mode/1up "Allemande with your partner, remain in your places while the 2.d CU: does the same, down the mid: up again, & turn round." A1: 1s Allemande (RH turn halfway, box the gnat to place, LH turn halfway, swat the flea.) A2: 2s do the same. B1: 1s down the middle and back and cast off. B2: Circle L & R (or 4 Changes of R & L, or partner turn right and left) NOTE: B2 "Turn round" is, I suspect, right hand turn or two hand turn, and neither leads nicely into allemand. R&L, without the finishing step will be sweet.) NOTE 2: You can tell people to just do a right-hand turn followed by a left-hand turn, and if they're feeling fancy they can make it an allemande. (Allemande with skip-change is actually hecka fun if you can do it, but if you're still trying to figure out the allemande you can't do it. It's possible they would like an allemande R only.
