Yes...and another fact to remember: it's much harder to
transmit cooties through the elbow than the hand.

I've also noticed that kids aren't as grossed out by giving
hands to someone opposite them, for a sashay or a two-hand
turn, as they are by joining hands in a big circle. I can
only guess that the latter, done with someone next to them,
feels more like "holding hands" in the romantic/mushy
sense.
