A1 1-2 Ones cast down below the twos.
   3-6 Ones half figure-eight up through the twos.
   7-8 Ones lead up through the twos and fall back into partner's place.

A2 1-2 Twos cast up above the ones.
   3-6 Twos half figure-eight down through the ones.
   7-8 Twos lead down through the ones and fall back into partner's place.
   All end improper in original places.

B 1-2 Take hands in a ring. Balance in and out.
  3-4 Circle left halfway.
  5-8 Partners take right hands, balance together and apart, and box the gnat.
 9-12 Circle right once around.
13-16 Partners take right hands, balance together and apart, and box the gnat.


The dancers have the opportunity to explore the texture of the opening sequence of figures so that
couples acknowledge their partners while gracefully stepping back into lines in the last measure.
