LADY DAY (Dancing Master, 1687, 7th ed; Retreads - Bolton interpretation) Longways duple minor, IMPROPER, 2/2 Key: Bb A1: (IMPROPER, remember) 1-4: M1 circles a little more than halfway with the two women and releases his partner's hand so she falls into W2's place. M1&W2, not in top places proper, cross right shoulder and turn right to face. 5-8: All two-hand turn opposite (currently in partner's place) 1.25 times, moving clockwise 1/4 round the set (butterfly turn) so as to end up on the line, opening out, woman on the right, to face across to partner in progressed places. A2:1-8: W2 similarly circles with the two men. She releases partners hand, and the same pair end in top places, improper. They cross, and all turn as above, ending on the line, woman on the LEFT, facing across to partner, in home places. B1:1-4: All facing partner, slide two steps (men left, women r) so as to change places with neighbor, women passing between the men, and turn single away (cloverleaf) to face partner. 5-8: Starting with partner, 3 changes of R&L (with hands). Everybody's still at home. B2:1-8: Slide two steps as before, but this time the men pass between the women. All turn single away to face NEIGBHOR, and two-hand turn on the line.
