I wrote a dance earlier this year to Beethoven contradance #1 that may have been fun for 12 year olds. I haven't called it for kids, but I've tried it at a couple of adult dances in upstate NY. I suggested that the men "show off" in setting to their corners, but the women are not impressed and turn to their partners. The dancers seemed to like to put on this act. I Care not for These Gentlemen Carmen Giunta duple longways, proper music: Beethoven contradance #1 A1 Man one sets, advancing, to corner; she turns single and two- hand turns her partner. A2 Man two sets, advancing, to corner; she turns single and two- hand turns her partner. B1 Right hands across (once around) All set (toward center of group of four), and turn single (right). B2 Half poussette with partner (woman 1 and man 2 advancing). Left hands across (once around). Carmen Giunta giunta@lemoyne.edu Professor of Chemistry Le Moyne College 1419 Salt Springs Rd.
