ROZSA Instructions by Gordon Potts: (Written for the tune of the same name by Undine Hornby of Late Night Band. 32 bar slowish waltz/waltz mazurka Couple dance A1: partners face, fingertip to fingertip. (Keep movements small and smooth). 1-2: Rock to the man's L woman's R, (LOD) and back. 3-4: Catch hold of the hand you're touching, & put them up in the air. Keeping hold, Woman turns half way round to back on to her partner. [I think that's woman turns R under her own R arm.] Bring the still joined hands down in front of Woman, facing out 5-8: chasse L 4 steps (LOD) A2: (Reverses all of this) 1-4: chasse R 4 steps (anti-LOD) 4-8: Rock right, left, untie. (Finish facing in original position) ( The timing is something like Rock, Rock, Spin and Lock Step 1, 2, 3, and back Back 2, 3, 4 Rock, Rock, untie the lock) B1: (Facing, right hands joined) 1-2: balance forward and back 3-4: change places under joined hands 5-6: (change hands) balance forward and back 7-8: change places under joined hands into ballroom position. B2: (in ballroom position) 1-2: Chassee two steps in LOD 3-4: Chassee two steps the other way 5-8: Waltz round. NOTE: I have two versions of this, both from Gordon on the eceilidh mailing list at different times. In this version , after the spin and lock, both are facing out and chassee in LOD, then chassee the other way. In this version, W definitely has back to her partner the whole time. In the other version, which is what we did at Free Folk, turn under in sweetheart hold and both face line of direction, women a little in front and to the right of men. Travel with four small, close waltz steps; pivot individually (still holding on) to face reverse Line of Direction, women now to man's left and slightly in front. Four small waltz steps home, both face out, and proceed as shown here.
