Soul Reversal (Becket "indecent" formation*) facing your partner up and down the set: make waves of 4 David "Tavi" Merrill To get into formation: start in regular contra, then ladies change places, then make a short wave, gents have right hands in the middle. Starting wave is W2 ^ M1 ^ v M2 v W1 A1. waves of 4, gents in center: balance the wave (1-2) gents allemande R half (3-4), and pass neighbor lady Left shoulder as ladies come in to chain across (5-6) courtesy turn with partner (7-8) A2. balance in a ring and petronella turn (2x) B1. balance in a ring. Wowee: with your neighbor across the set, roll away with a half sashay with your free hand catch your partner and swing B1. Circle L 3/4. turning towards your partner, face new neighbors; with whom you Circle R 3/4 and melt into new waves To get into becket indecent - duple improper, ladies trade places. The dance progresses left as a normal becket clockwise. Solving the problem of how to combine these particular moves in a way that flows owes much to Rick Mohr. I first ran across the "reverse becket" orientation in his dance "Retronella"; same for the progression, which i first encountered in "Comfort Deluxe". Thanks to Rick for his comments on the choreography, and to the dancers at DECDF 2011 for their patience in birthing this dance and getting the bugs out. I also want to thank Nils Fredland for introducing the dance at Pinewoods American Week 2011. Bob Isaacs teaches the "wowee" (a midwestern term) as a move which requires three hands: you roll away from one hand to the other, and reach out with the newly free hand to catch the one you'll swing. With proper weight-sharing, it's a very satisfying move - but not a good one to use in crowded sets.
