* When left hands are given to partner at the end of the square through, the man turns to scoop up his partner
and whirl her around

I tell people to make sure you are facing across at a new couple at end of balance and swing - it usually is
not an issue but prevents it from becoming one.
After the long lines, I like to watch people wonder where their partner is and then realize they are standing
right next to them...

This may be a little bit odd for total beginners because of the right diagonal chain - the square through
actually seems to go reasonably well.



Here's a Becket I wrote with a full square through without balances - based on a workshop where Susan Michaels
taught an older dance with the full square through figure, and pepped it up with the extra turn at the end
since we tend not to do four steps per pass:
