Here's a new dance by John Meechan, and I'm told I was the first one to call it last weekend. It's dedicated to Maureen Knight, keen dancer and one of the organisers of the Eastbourne Folk Festival. It has a balance at the top of C2! Longways duple improper 48 bar American jigs >>> Double progression <<< A1: Circle left. Swing neighbour. A2: Shuttle (which you might call "Mad Robin" or "Sliding Doors"), men in front of neighbour to start. Men pass right shoulder into half a hey, ladies ricochet back to place. B1: Balance and swing partner. B2: Balance the ring; Petronella twirl. Balance the ring; California twirl. C1: Do-si-do new neighbour to a wave. Balance the wave; trade the wave (all loop changing places with partner right shoulder, which also changes your direction in the wave). C2: Balance the wave; trade the wave (to where you came from). Balance the wave; move on to new neighbours. The other one which springs to mind is "Forty Years of Penguin Pam" by Seth Tepfer which was published in CDSS News Jul/Aug 2008.
