HEINER SEZ:

For the second swing, the ladies should turn back outwards, as for a backtrack,
or they will waste two more steps to get into the swing.

ALAN SEZ:  

Heiner evidently means roll away with partner (R to L), so the  woman is behind
partner, and just turns back to fall into the arms of the guy immediately 
behind her.  This is perfectly sensible; I just wanted the dance to be more
challenging.
