Ridge writes:

Right hands across is a great old square figure. I tried to have the
men cross in the usual way as in the square version but they
inevitably want to loop out and turn it into some kind of a hey. When
I made it "pass partner and other man by the right" it seems to stick,
though some men will still try to make a partial hey out of it. Maybe
say "take the shortest route to swing?" Anyway, looping around partner
and passing partner by right works well.

The "pass through to an allemande" seems to be an added bonus -- folks
seem to like it -- I've gotten feedback from callers and dancers about
that little bit.

The ending do si do sets up the right hands across nicely -- everyone
is settled in roughly the right place to start and knows who the
neighbors are.

Angeline the Baker was the tune that was going through my head when
these pieces finally assembled themselves in this order.
