A2    Bottom C make an arch, 1C go through, leading the others, cast to place
B1    1C & 2C, 1/2 right hand star    }
   1C & 3C, 1/2 left hand star    } swing when you come out of the star
B2    1C & 4C, 1/2 right hand star    }
   1C & 5C, 1/2 left had star    }
   (so the tops work down to the bottom)

Written by the late lamented Mick Brooks.  For a special Sidmouth ceilidh in
the Drill Hall.    A  'May Do' a made up 'tradition' from a mythical place on
the border of Norfolk and Suffolk.(called?). Included a drum band (a la
Padstow), a huge May pole without a pole!...dozens of ribbons suspended from
the centre of the hall.  Band - Old Hat, various callers including me, Mick,
Sid Kipper....a splendid evening.  I do miss the Drill Hall as one could
decorate it appropriately...when we did a 'Shropshire Night' I made a huge
cardboard Severn Valley Railway engine and coaches - took up all one wall..and
the entrance to the toilets was the border with Wales!...

I have used the dance as a memorial nod to my old friend Mick...The name
escapes me, and my book is downstairs and buggered if I'm going down for it
now....tomorrow!. He gave each figure sort of agricultural names - The only one
I'm sure about is the lovely progressive star figure - Whirling Stars  (great
to dance if you have experienced dancers, flows really well ) - the others
included - Something?(could have been Painful) Ploughing, Rake? or  Roll in the
Hay and ???

Interesting dance, but as pointed out before - not for beginners!
