BLAYDON RACES MIXER (Devised by William Scott of Hexham) CDM5 Big Set, any number of couples in a circle or concentric circles. 1-8: All set into the centre and back, twice. 9-16: Ballroom hold; 2 chassays in, 2 out; short dance round circle (or repeat chassays.) 17-24: Promenade. 25-32: Men leave their partners, go to the woman ahead, balance and swing and open up in big circle with woman on right. Colin Hume's words: Join hands, go into the middle and back. And again. Ballroom hold: two chassees in, two out, and dance about. Cross-hand hold and promenade. Men move on to the one in front, and you balance: right, left, right, left, give her a swing. Put the lady on the right; into the middle again.
