1/20/2005 Three-couple longways set A1: 1-4: Women stand still while mens line advances forward setting and turns single back to place 5-8: then men orbit their partners, who may turn to watch but don't travel. A2: 1-8: As above, with men standing still and women moving. B1: 1-4: 1s and 2s clump cross (all improper), turn single 5-8: 1s and 3s clump cross (1s proper, others improper), turn single. B2: 1-4: 3s (now in middle place) 1/2 figure eight up 5-8: 2s 1/2 figure eight down Woodshed 1/9/2019: Likelihood of train leaving the station on the clump crosses, and it's all mechanics anyway. Alternate B1: 1s and 2s circle 4 halfway cloverleaf turn single 1s and 3s circle 4 halfway cloverleaf turn single OR 1s and 2s circle 4 halfway 1s and 2s turn partners two hands, 1s open facing down 1s and 3s circle 4 halfway 1s and 3s turn partners two hands, 3s open facing up [Which I suspect is better] Woodshed 1/13/2016: Jump at the Sun is a fun tune (and had drive but not bounce). Carol Ann preferred a meander to clump crosses. If you do clump crosses, the couple that's traveling on does a cloverleaf turn to set up their next thing. Needs great tune. Need a character for the As. Flirtatious, partner-focused? Joy of motion for the traveling person, keeping the lines straight? 1/2 figure eights require technique (both people start at once) or booking it. Given a forty-bar tune, a circle six 1x, partners two-hand turn 1x might give a sense of resolution.
