The Northern Cock-Up Alan Winston, 1997, revised 1998 Tune: Cock of The North (16 bar A, 16 bar B) Mixer for crowded rooms; start out with a shadow/buddy and form a Sicilian Circle. Then face your buddy and take hands in big circles; inner ring is facing out, outer ring is facing in. Maybe in the very last round balance and swing buddy instead. Formation: Sicilian Circle A1: (Done in concentric circles, inner circle facing out. You're next to your CORNER, in a different circle from your partner.) 1 - 4: Big circles circle left. 5 - 8: Big circles circle right (until you're back with buddy) A2: 1 - 4: In fours, circle right 5 - 8: Circle 4 left B1: 1 - 2: Balance or set into the small circle 3 - 4: Turn single (or "spin around") 5 - 8: R hands across all the way round. B2: 1 - 2: Balance with neighbor. 3 - 8: Swing with neighbor, ending in your original concentric circle (progressive) Notes: Woodshed 01/12/2016: Changed A2 to Cr, cl. Works so well with the tune, but no partner swing, so have to present it as an odd formation mixer.
