FLOWERS OF EDINBURGH whole-set variant for three couples in a longways set. A1:1st casts down the outside of the lady's line while partner follows her. She continues outside the men's line while he goes up the middle to her place. If you did that in 12 steps, set to your partner; if you did it in 16, go on to the next hing. A2: Roles reverse; he leads, she follows. B1: 1s down the middle, turn toward partner, come back and cast off all the way to the bottom; everybody else moves up one place while the 1s are casting down. B2: Circle six to the left and right. (Work out for yourselves whether that's slipping or walking.) (If you're looking to be as prescriptive as an English dance would be, B1 can be down the middle for two bars, set to partner, up the middle and cast off. But leaving it open means that people who really want to fly down the middle and fly back can do it.)
