CLOCKWORK DREAM Alan Winston Dyer/Swan 6/8 tune for choreography workshop three couple longways First version 21 August 2021 modified 28 August A1 1-4: 1s lead through 2s and cast up while 2s cast up and lead down and 3s turn two hands once round; 5-8: 1s two hand turn while 3s lead through second place and cast down and 2s bulge out to go down the outside and lead back to 2nd place. (In all of A1, 2s do the path they would in a mirror hey.) A2 1-8: 2s stand still at home while Ends full double figure eight through standing 2s, 1s casting down as 3s cross up to start all finish at home. B1: 1: 2s, stepping forward, take right hand, 2: and left hand 3-4: while 2s travel up the middle turning two hands 1x, 1s cast down to 2nd place. [If we can't travel turning in four beats, skaters waltz hold lead.] 5=6: 1s in 2nd place , what the 2s did. 7-8: 1s travel turning *down* while 3s cast up B2: 1 let file step back 2 right file step back 3-4: partners cross right shoulder and face 5-6: as in 1-2 7-8: as in 3-4 but finish with bottms (new 3s) face across, middles (new 2s) face up wide, tops (new 1s) face down. Unsure about tonal mismatches. Even though I thought of this figure to this tune, the A is simple and happy and suggests the whole thing is a romp, and these figures are about precision. Tune will propel the movement and B is meant to be closely fitted to it (but is untested). Should I save these As for a more cerebral tune and do something rompier with this one?
