ANDREA'S WALTZ (Five couple longways, play 5AB)

NIB - (suggest for Vol 2); in Waltz Book 1 and Legacy.
3/4, Key Em.

A 1-4:  1s and 3s half poussette with 2s and 4s, men forward to start.
  5-8:  1s and 2s half poussette (still going down) with 4s and 5s ,
        finishing 2-4-1-5-3
 9-16:  As above, from the top, finishing 4-5-2-3-1.
       
Note: You could also say "Top two pairs, half-poussette; bottom two pairs,
      half-poussette."

B 1-2:  In a continuous sweeping movement, all face up in three steps; 
        taking inside hands, men turn their partners under their arm to
        face down improper, as they move forward, clockwise, into their
        partner's place.  All end improper, facing down, and retaining inside
        hands.
    3:  All move three steps (1 waltz step) down the set.
  4-6:  All cast up to place (still improper).
  7-8:  Partners take both hands and, spreading arms wide apart, balance 
        forward and back. [*]
 9-16:  Repeat 1-8, except facing down, moving up,casting down.  Finish
        proper, 4-5-2-3-1.

[*] Tom Cook said the B part of the dance and the tune offers the opportunity
for the dancers "to express their mutual affection in a way which John
Playford's dancers would have approved, and here [in England] sympathetic
musicians have been known to prolong that opportunity, in bars 7 and 15."
