Program Description:
Recently the generation of trains [1] and isolated [2] attosecond pulses has been demonstrated at Free Electron Lasers (FELs) operating in the extreme ultraviolet (XUV) and soft X-ray spectral range.
FEL-driven attosecond sources present important advantages with respect to table-top attosecond sources based on high-order harmonic generation, including high-energies per pulse (typically in the microjoule-millijoule range), tunability of the photon energy and shaping capability (in the case of train of attosecond pulses). In this talk I will show the experimental technique introduced for the temporal characterization of attosecond pulses at FERMI [3].
