Towards attosecond measurement in molecules and at surfaces

Wednesday, January 21, 2015 - 3:00pm

Speaker: Jon Marangos, Imperial College London

Program Description

The talk will cover a number of topics related to the research programme at Imperial College in attosecond measurement. It will commence with an overview of some of the unanswered questions in ultrafast electron and hole dynamics in molecules and solids. It will then explore several measurement techniques currently being applied to answer these questions. These are: HHG spectroscopy of molecules to reveal nuclear and electronic dynamics, Surface streaking of disordered materials,  Attosecond pump-probe measurements of molecular hole dynamics.
