I am currently working with Graham GeorgeIngrid Pickering, and Roger Prince on developing sulfur K-edge x-ray near-edge spectroscopy as a structural probe for understanding the metabolic role of sulfur in biological systems.  What fun!
I am thankful for my graduate advisors, Jim Penner-Hahn and Charlie Yocum, for their patient mentoring while we worked on the structural characterization of the Mn cluster and the metal ion sites in photosystem II (PSII) using electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR), x-ray absorption (XAS) and x-ray standing wave (XSW) spectroscopies.
