XAFS13 July 9-14, 2006

The American Institute of Physics will publish the XAFS13 proceedings in its conference proceedings series as a hard-bound book which will be sent to all participants with a full registration. The proceedings will also be available on-line.

In order to insure timely publication, the papers will be due at the beginning of the conference to allow for peer review during the week of the conference.

One author representing each submission must check-in at the editor desk upon arriving at the conference.

Submission

Manuscripts should either be sent as e-mail attachments to xafs13@ssrl.slac.stanford.edu before the conference or submitted at the conference publications desk on a memory stick or CD-ROM which will be returned to you. You must also submit two paper copies, even if you e-mail your paper in advance, at the conference desk to aid refereeing.

Manuscript Format

Use the AIP instructions for the 8.5 x 11 inch, double-column format (http://proceedings.aip.org/proceedings/8x11d.jsp) using the U.S. standard letter size template. Please follow the detailed instructions given on the AIP web site. In addition, the preferred format is MS-Word, although, LaTeX is acceptable. Do not include page numbers or other information in the header/footer of your document.

Length of Articles

Since the manuscript will be in camera-ready format, the AIP instructions referenced above will insure that the number of words per page and the figure formatting will be acceptable. The lengths of the papers in printed form are:
3 pages for contributed manuscripts,
5 pages for invited manuscripts and
7 pages for plenary contributions.

Additional Requirements

Please submit the following documents at the conference publications desk:
Transfer of Copyright Agreement (mandatory),
Request for Permission to Reprint Published Material (mandatory),
Offprint/Reprint Order (optional).

Refereeing

Manuscripts will be refereed during the week of the conference. We may request your assistance in the refereeing process. Manuscripts for review will be handed out during the conference.
