Beamline Computer Equipment

If your software or hardware needs for X-ray/VUV proposals cannot be met by the standard equipment, you must contact the computer group well before your scheduled beam time. Standard Computer Equipment for Macromolecular Crystallography Beamlines


Beamlines 1-5, 7-1, 9-1, 9-2 and 11-1:  The macromolecular crystallography beamlines at SSRL are equipped with unix workstations from SGI and Compaq. They control the data collection and allow full data processing and analysis in real-time. Non-Standard Beamline Computer Systems


Beamline 1-4:  Data acquisition and data analysis on two IBM PCs.
PCs, Macs, Xterminals and Printers


Most of the beamlines have a PC running WindowsNT 4.0 or Xterminals. Additionally, there are three PCs running WindowsNT 4.0 available on the experimental floor. Two of these PCs are located in Building 120 as you enter the User Research Administration Lobby area to check in and the other PC, one Mac and one Xterminal are located on the 2nd floor of Building 131 in the Users' area. There are a number of high quality Ethernet laser printers around the lab.
