Notification about Rapid Access proposals
We are not currently accepting rapid access proposals since the current user run ends on July 25, 2011. After the summer shutdown, operations will begin again after November 13, 3011, and we will resume accepting rapid access proposals at that time.
Note: The SPEAR3 running current will increase from 300 to 350 mA starting June 15, 2011. Given the small increment in current, we do not expect any negative impacts on beam line performance. Since June 2010, SPEAR3 has been operating in top-off injection mode with a frequent fill schedule to maintain the SPEAR3 current constant to approximately 1%. At present, the fill interval is 10 minutes but it may decrease to as low as 5-7 minutes. Tests at shorter fill patterns are planned for June 27-28, 2011, with the shorter fill patterns (~every 5-7 minutes) anticipated to begin in early July 2011. Contact the beam line scientists/engineers if you have any questions or to discuss how these changes may impact your planned experiments.
