Paul McIntyre ― SSRL Director

(650) 926-5319 | pcm1@slac.stanford.edu ⁞ Stanford Profile

Paul McIntyre's research expertise focuses on nanostructured inorganic materials for applications in electronics, energy technologies and sensors. He is best known for his work on metal oxide/semiconductor interfaces, ultrathin dielectrics, defects in complex metal oxide thin films, and nanostructured Si-Ge single crystals. His research teams synthesize materials, characterizes their structures and compositions with a variety of advanced microscopies and spectroscopies, studies the passivation of their interfaces, and measures functional properties of devices.

Piero Pianetta ― SSRL Deputy Director

(650) 926-3484 | pianetta@slac.stanford.edu ⁞ Stanford Profile

Piero Pianetta's research is directed towards understanding how the atomic and electronic structure of semiconductor interfaces impacts device technology pertaining to advanced semiconductors and photocathodes. His research includes the development of new analytical tools for these studies based on the use of synchrotron radiation.
