Overview
Beam line 7-3 is the side station on the 20-pole 2-tesla wiggler beam line 7
dedicated to biological
XAS, mainly for dilute metalloprotein solution studies. BL7-3 has a
vertically-collimating pre-monochromator harmonic rejection mirror and a
liquid nitrogen-cooled monochromator with two orientations of Si(220) crystals
permanetly installed that can be interchanged remotely without warming or
breaking vacuum. The beam line can be run with or without the mirror in the
beam and has an operating range of 4.6-37keV.
BL 7-3 has a dedicated 30-element solid-state Ge detector and a dedicated
liquid He flow cryostat.
