-Heinz J. Weyer, Paul-Scherrer Institute
On June 18, the project of the Swiss Light Source (SLS) was finally approved by the Swiss Parliament. The design of the building and machine part is ready and groundbreaking will take place in a few months from now. The final decisions on beamlines and experimental infrastructure are prepared on the basis of Letters of Intent, workshops and discussions with the users. The goal is to have SLS ready for experiments in four years from now.
